FIELD: fire refining of metals; production of metals of required chemical purity.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method of fire refining of metals in equilibrium thermodynamic system includes delivery of metal in thin layer into special-purpose chamber with inclined hearth and fore-hearth. Gases are fed to chamber through lances found in front wall and hearth, forming thick drop gas mist together with melt which is thermodynamically equilibrium due to sufficient heating of gases and metal to temperatures ensuring excess of melting point of metal in drop-and-gas medium during entire oxidation-reduction period.
EFFECT: increased productivity due to prompt admission of gases to each drop of melt; reduced usage of materials.
