FIELD: articles for heat, sound or noise insulation, absorption, or reflection.

SUBSTANCE: insulation article comprises basic layer made of mineral fiber and rigid surface layer. Basic insulation material comprises mineral fiber and binding agent. Average density of basic insulation layer is 50-300 kg/m3. Rigid surface layer comprises mineral material in amount of 40-95% by rigid surface layer weight bonded with organic binding agent taken in amount of 5-35% by rigid surface layer weight. Average rigid surface layer density is at least 450 kg/m3. Article production method is also disclosed.

EFFECT: possibility to obtain articles having any predetermined density, increased manufacturability, strength and insulation properties thereof.
