FIELD: space engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in action of thermal energy source on cleaned surface oft comet. Cleaning of cometary nucleus surface may be performed by explosion of several nuclear charges on surface of comet which are thrown on one of poles of axis of rotation of cometary nucleus. Destruction of surface solid crust near one of poles ensures stabilization of direction of gas and dust efflux jets from surface of cometary nucleus due to its rotation. Then, special-purpose spacecraft lands on cleaned section and heats it, thus intensifying evaporation of nucleus agent and increasing deflecting reactive thrust at any distance of comet from Sun.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of method.
