SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the improved method for preparing para-dinitrosobenzene used in tire industry, manufacturing rocket fuels, as a hardening agent for hydrocarbon rubbers. Invention describes a method for preparing para-dinitrosobenzene by oxidation of para-quinone dioxime in an aqueous suspension wherein hydrogen peroxide is used as an oxidizing agent in the presence of hydrogen chloride as a catalyst in the mole ratio para-quinone dioxime : hydrogen peroxide : hydrogen chloride = 1:1.1:(1.8-2.2), respectively, at temperature 50-70°C and in the weight ratio para-quinone dioxime to water = 1:(5-8), and oxidizing agent is dosed for 15-30 min followed by keeping at stirring for 15-30 min. Method provides simplifying and accelerating process in preparing the end product and retention of high yield and quality of product.
