FIELD: pharmaceuticals.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 2-chloro-4-nitrophenol used as the active principle of such antifungal drugs as Nitrofungin, Nichlorgin, Nichlorofen. The method is of oxidative chlorination of 4-nitrophenol in a mixture of sulfuric acid with a concentration of 30–60% and hydrogen peroxide. Sodium chloride is added at a molar ratio of 4-nitrophenol:sodium chloride equal to 1:1.
EFFECT: improving the process using a more technologically advanced method, increasing the quality and yield of the target product.
