FIELD: microwave radio engineering, applicable in waveguide, measuring and antenna equipment.
SUBSTANCE: the waveguide load has a section of a rectangular waveguide with a resistive film located in its longitudinal section at an equal distance from the side walls. A resistive film is applied to the dielectric plate oriented perpendicularly to the wider walls of the rectangular waveguide section and adjoining with one end to the shortened section of the rectangular waveguide. An access is made on the other end of the dielectric plate, its length l=(0.21±0.02)λ and height h=(0.25b/a±0.02)λ, where a - the dimension of the wider wall of the rectangular waveguide section, b - the dimension of the narrower wall of the rectangular waveguide section, λ - the wavelength in the free space, the surface resistance of the resistive film is selected proceeding from the condition of maximum absorption of the electromagnetic energy.
EFFECT: essentially reduced length of the load at an improved matching and expansion of the working band.
