VALVE-TYPE INJECTOR FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE OF SUCH INJECTOR Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC F02M61/16 F02M61/20

Abstract RU 2267640 C2

FIELD: manufacture of engines; fuel equipment of internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: proposed valve-type injector for internal combustion engines includes bearing member inside which valve member is mounted for axial displacement against force of at least one locking spring; valve member is made in form of piston; at some length of section, valve member is movable in hole; end of valve member closest to combustion chamber controls opening of at least one atomizing orifice. Injector is also provided with cavity for mounting springs where at least one locking spring is located; it is made in bearing member on side of far end of combustion chamber of movable section of valve member. Valve member is loaded by force of at least one locking spring whose far end (relative to combustion chamber) rests on adjusting pin made in form of piston and locked in spring chamber. Injector has taper surface on valve member loaded by high pressure of fuel owing to which equivalent force acts axially at definite pressure of opening of valve member; equivalent force exceeds force of at least one locking spring. Bearing member of injector has at least one adjusting through hole in wall of spring mounting cavity at level of adjusting pin; this hole is intended for introducing adjusting tools for control of axial position of adjusting pin which is fixed by calking in spring mounting cavity due to plastic deformation of thinned partition. Adjusting tool is inserted into hole in spring mounting cavity for acting on adjusting pin. Adjusting pin is set in axial motion by means of adjusting tool at simultaneous measurement of valve injector opening pressure till preset magnitude has been obtained. Thinned partition in spring mounting cavity is subjected to plastic deformation fixing it in adjusted position, after which adjusting tool is withdrawn from adjusting hole (52).

EFFECT: reduction of time required for assembly of injector; enhanced operational reliability of injector.
