FIELD: tobacco industry, in particular, tobacco bales producing equipment.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus has frame, two compaction chamber and compacting mechanism with rotary device. Compaction mechanism is made in the form of two parallel screws whose nuts are disposed in hubs of two worm gears engaged with one endless screw. Rotary device has at its one side horizontal axle fixed on frame between compaction chambers and at its other side a lever lock. Bale weight controlling device is made in the form of leverage system consisting of double-armed lever pivotally secured on frame. Lever-grip is pivotally mounted on small arm for holding of rotary device. Large arm contacting with end switch is connected with frame through adjustable spring.

EFFECT: increased usage coefficient of compacting mechanism.
