FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tobacco industry, particularly, to installation designed to compact leaf tobacco into bales. Proposed installation comprises two press-chambers, bale extractor, preliminary and final compaction devices that included press-plates and drives. Two press-chambers are movabby secured on vertical direct brackets of merry-go-round. The axis of merry-go-round is based on the up and lower bearings. Preliminary compaction device housing outlet branch pipe end face accommodates collar that stays in contact with top end face of press-chamber. Bottom of the latter is mounted on moving plate fixed on two screws that enter the reduction gearbox worm gear hubs. Bottom of the other press-chamber is mounted on stationary base. Two opposite walls of press-chamber bottom part has two openings with shutters, each being secured on the end of one-arm lever that stays in contact with the roller of crosspiece fitted on two screws of moving plate drive reduction gearbox.

EFFECT: simplified design, tight joint between preliminary compaction device and press-chamber.
