FIELD: medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device has dorsal, thoracic and pelvic rigid carcasses connected to each other and repeating human body surface contours. The dorsal carcass is arranged on the back and the thoracic and pelvic ones are arranged at the level of pelvis and chest, respectively. The dorsal carcass has one or several horizontal parts of not less than 3 cm in height with central angle being greater than 180° in horizontal cross-section. Thoracic and pelvic rigid carcasses surface area takes 0.5 to 3.5% of human body surface. The dorsal carcass is manufactured from a material having elastic modulus not less than 300 N/mm2, whereas elastic modulus of the thoracic and pelvic carcass material is not less than 200 N/mm2.
EFFECT: improved corset design and fixation conditions; enhanced effectiveness in treating vertebral column deformities.
