CORRECTING ORTHOPEDIC CORSET Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A61F5/02 

FIELD: medicine; traumatology; orthopedics; neurosurgery; neuropathology.

SUBSTANCE: corset can be used for treatment of patients suffering from diseases and traumas of pectoral and lumbar departments of spinal column, for prophylactic treatment of deformations of spinal column and can be also used as own medicinal device or additional external fixation aid for patients operated because of pathology in spinal column. Correcting corset has frame disposed along back and made by shape following or correcting sagittal profile of human and fitting set which is connected with frame. Fitting set has top and lower belts which embrace human body horizontally at level of thorax and pelvis and connected together on front or front-side surface of body, and diagonal crossing belts directed from frame ahead to belts, which belts embrace body along horizon. Frame has three or more parts disposed one to others at distance of 8 cm and closer. Central part of parts of frames are disposed along spinal column and/or paravertebral areas and it has width of 4 cm and more and their square equals to 1,0-10,0% of patient's body surface. Side parts of frame are disposed outside central part or parts along side and/or back-side surface of body and they have width of 4 cm and longer. Their square equals to 1,0-5,0% of patient's body surface. Elasticity module of material, used for parts of frame, equals to 200 H/mm² minimum. Frame is placed into casing made of unwoven material. Lumbar and pectoral departments of spinal column can be reliably fixed and local pressure can be applied to protruding parts of body or to correct position of body and to recline spinal column while taking all individual features of patient into account.
