FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the devices for non-surgical correction of the shape of the chest. A device for correcting keeled chest deformity and spinal deformity consists of a frame made in the form of a three-dimensional hollow model, similar to the relief of the chest, and adjustment elements located on the frame for individual adaptation of the device and pressure elements. The frame contains corrective pressure zones and unloading areas for influencing the chest and spine in three planes, and has a longitudinal incision on one of the anterior outer surfaces. Adjustment elements include shoulder straps located above the shoulder girdle area and tension straps located above the longitudinal section area. The flexural modulus of the material from which the frame is made is not less than 400 MPa. In the area of keeled deformation of the chest, on the inner surface of the frame there is a front elastic element with a Shore A hardness of at least 30. The area of the anterior elastic element corresponds to the area of the deformed part of the chest by at least 50 percent. The thickness of the anterior elastic element is in the range of 50–100 percent of the height of the protruding section of the keeled chest deformity. On the back-facing surface of the frame, in an area ranging from 1 to 3 percent of the total body surface, is a rear elastic element with adjustable thickness and hardness. The Shore A hardness of the rear elastic element is in the range from 10 to 20, and the thickness of the rear elastic element is in the range from 3 to 20 mm.
EFFECT: provision of the possibility of simultaneous correction of various variants of keeled chest deformity and concomitant deformity of the chest and/or spine, taking into account the individual characteristics of the patient and fixing the chest and spine in the achieved position while increasing the ease of use.
