FIELD: equipment for therapeutic and prophylactic enterprises, namely, functional beds with adjustable sections for supporting patient's body in desirable position.
SUBSTANCE: functional bed has base and bed including spine, coxofemoral, intermediate and pedal sections sequentially connected through pivot joints. Spine, intermediate and pedal sections have inclination angle adjustment mechanisms and lateral guards made in the form of lateral guarding members mounted at sections. Guarding members are mounted on spine and pedal sections and are furnished with handrails whose guarding zone partly covers coxofemoral and intermediate sections. Guarding member is pivotally connected to section, may be dropped to lateral side so that its handrail is oriented upward or downward, and is equipped with retainer for retaining it in operating position with handrail oriented upward. Retainer for guarding member has stop formed as rod movable in slots provided in bracket and adapted for passage with its ends into slots provided in support, when guarding member is in operating position. Rods ends are provided with portions defining handles to be gripped by hands for removal of its ends from slots provided in support, when handrail is dropped. Rod is spring-loaded to pivot joint pin of guarding member. Unblocking of retaining member is enabled with the help of handles by withdrawal of rod ends from slots provided in support on which guarding member is pivotally mounted. Guarding member is thereafter moved to non-operating position. Guarding member is moved to operating position by reversal rotation thereof. Retainer automatically blocks guarding member in operating position owing to displacement of rod ends on engagement with working portion in support, followed by insertion of rod ends into slots of support under the action of spring.
EFFECT: simplified construction, increased convenience and safety of employment, reduced time for moving handrail to operating or non-operating position.
