METHOD AND VERTEBRAL COLUMN CORRECTION DEVICE FOR REMOVING VERTEBRAL COLUMN DEFORMITIES Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A61H1/00 

FIELD: medicine; medical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method involves arranging posterosuperior spines of iliac bone crests on horizontal line of frontal plane relative to patient body arranged in prone position in equidistant arrangement of their horizontal supporting plane. The bones are fixed in the achieved position. The sacral bone is fixed with plate to prevent from displacement. Traction of vertebra body placed proximally with respect to cranial part of deformity base in cranial direction is carried out to eliminate compression syndrome manifestations or to reduce deformity angle by 2-3 grades. Then, pressure is applied in transverse direction with respect to longitudinal axis of vertebral motor segments of deformity zone. The achieved vertebral column correction is fixed with orthopedic orthesis when needed. Device has patient support unit, frame, drive and vertebral column action members like sacral bone catcher and vertebral rest member. The latter is manufactured as rod and plates having convex zone and pinned from convex side on the lateral rod side. One free rod end has recess for receiving apices of spinal processes. The recesses are also produced on one plate ends set. The sacral bone catcher is manufactured as rod having swing joint with fixing member of pressure lever on one side. The rod transforms into plate having recess for receiving sacral bone crest.

EFFECT: provided selectivity in treating various diseases of vertebral genesis; simplified design.
