FIELD: agriculture, in particular, vegetable and fruit storage methods, more particular, onion storage method.
SUBSTANCE: method involves determining time of beginning of onion germination and determining content of ethereal oil in onion upon laying and during storage thereof. Increase in ethereal oil content, which occurs after reduction of this value as compared to initial value upon laying of onion, may be accepted as beginning of germination of onion. Content of ethereal oil in onion during storage shall be performed at periodicity of once a month.
EFFECT: increased efficiency by providing timely revealing of onion germination beginning phase and interruption of storage procedure.
