FIELD: mechanical engineering; belt conveyors.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to belt conveyors on roller supports or sliding supports. Proposed belt conveyor has endless flexible belt closed on drive and tension drums, roller supports on carrying run of belt and sliding supports on return run of belt consisting of low-friction members secured on carrying structure, and girders and posts of conveyor. Low-friction members and carrying structure are made in form of strips orientated in length of return run and arranged symmetrically relative to axis of conveyor with angle of tilting by 5-6 degrees to side from axis of conveyor, distance between longitudinal axes of symmetry of strips being 0.5-0.66, and width of strips is 0.12-0.14 of width of belt. Strips of carrying structure of low-friction members are secured on crossmember of conveyor posts by means of shoes. Side edges of conveyor belt return run are arranged at level of girders made of channels with webs pointed to side of conveyor axis, and low-friction material strips are installed on inner surfaces of channel walls.

EFFECT: simplified design of sliding supports and reduced usage of material forming low friction members.
