BELT CONVEYOR ON AIR CUSHION Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC B65G15/08 B65G15/28

Abstract RU 2270148 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering; air cushion belt conveyors.

SUBSTANCE: proposed air cushion belt conveyor has endless belt closed on drive and tension drums, support arc-shaped chute with longitudinal members installed on inner surface, and chamber for delivering compressed air between support arc-shaped chute and belt. Support arc-shaped chute is made to enclosed belt over arc of circumference with central angle of (1.12-1.2)π radians. Longitudinal members are made detachable, in form of strips of low-friction material and are arranged as follows: two on upper edges of support arc-shaped chute, and two in its lower part, out of the limits of chamber for delivering compressed air. Free edges of belt are arranged out of the limits of upper edges of support arc-shaped chute.

EFFECT: reduced consumption of compressed air and increased cross stability of load carrying run of belt at change of load from transported material, increased reliability and efficiency of operation of belt conveyor.
