Abstract RU 2269579 C1

FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely production of high-carbon cord-quality steel.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of melting metal; discharging it into ladle; killing it in ladle; performing out-of-furnace treatment; blowing metal with argon and casting it. Metal is discharged out of furnace to ladle when carbon content in metal is no more than 0.55%. Metal is killed in ladle during several stages: before starting metal discharge from furnace, adding carburizer on bottom of ladle; when ladle is filled with metal in quantity 5 - 10 t adding slag forming materials; when ladle is half-filled with metal adding ferroalloys and blowing metal in ladle by argon. Then out-of-furnace treatment of variable - alkalinity metal is performed.

EFFECT: maximally possible removal of sulfur and carbon.
