FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for manufacturing alloys aluminum-silicon, in particular, alloys comprising above 7% of silicon. Method involves addition of silicon particles of size 10 mm, not above, to liquid aluminum. Silicon granulate prepared by granulation of silicon in water is used as silicon particles that shows property for fragmentation for smaller granules after heating granulate to temperature of liquid aluminum, Granulate is added to liquid aluminum at temperature 700-850°C. In particular, silicon granulate can be added at temperature 800-850°C. Silicon granulate can comprise less 0.1% granules of size less 5 mcm or less 0.05% granules of size less 5 mcm. After fragmentation silicon granulate can comprise less 0.1% granules of size less 5 mcm. Silicon granulate can comprise fraction of granules size from 1 to 10 mcm that is obtained by screening. Silicon granulate is washed out with water once or multiple for removing the more smaller particles and dried. Invention provides decreasing time in manufacturing alloys aluminum-silicon and diminishing loss of metal in oxidation.
EFFECT: improved manufacturing method.
