FIELD: production of radiation shielding materials. SUBSTANCE: method includes mixing liquid glass and filler, molding mixture obtained at specific pressure of 200-300 kg/sq. cm, heat treatment at 700-750 C for 50-60 min, and annealing for 7-8 h. Liquid glass having silica ratio of 1.7-2.1 is used as inorganic binder and finely dispersed iron-containing concentrate having particle size of 40-50 mcm, as filler. Material produced by this method is distinguished by better physical and mechanical characteristics. EFFECT: enhanced radiation shielding properties, stability, and service life of material.
