FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out instrumental examination. Ultrasonic temporomandibular articulation scanning is carried out. Transducer is set on zygomatic bone as close as possible to acoustic duct at an angle of 38-42° to transversal head plane. Linear transducer of 38 mm and scanning frequency of 5.0-10.0 MHz are used for carrying out ultrasonic scanning. Maximum scanning depth is equal to 24 mm.

EFFECT: excluded radiation loading; real-time visualization of movements in temporomandibular articulation.
