FIELD: analytical instrument-making industry.

SUBSTANCE: method is based on utilization of two hard-electrolyte oxygen-ionic cells: additional and diffusive. Analyzed gas enters additional cell, EMF of which is utilized to estimate restorative, oxidizing or neutral character of main gas component. If the gas has neutral character, than by means of an additional cell in the gas a certain known concentration of oxygen is formed and gas is sent to diffusive cell, value of current in which is utilized to determine main gas component.

EFFECT: expanded possible area for implementation.
