FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; production of heat-resistant iron-ore pellets.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes delivery of moist charge to pelletizer plate for pelletizing and forming descent and ascent layers of pellets divided by axle, treatment of pellets by spraying of moist charge introduced into compressed gas flow, thus forming gas and moist charge jet. Pellets are laid on fire grate of roasting machine for drying at delivery of hearth gases through layer of pellets followed by reverse. Treatment of pellets by spraying is effected along horizontal diameter of plate forming the concentration of charge in jet oriented for crossing the horizontal diameter of plate and said axle within 2.5-10.5 kg(m2·s) at rate of 0.5-1.5 kg(m2·s) and increase of speed of motion of pellets on plate every 0.4 m/s. Temperature of compressed gases is maintained within 30-350°C.
EFFECT: reduced moisture content and enhanced strength of pellets.
