FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, particularly, to production of iron-ore pellets. Mixture is pelletized on a pelletizer to obtain wet pellets, they are laid in a layer on a conveyor belt located in a heat-insulated hearth, in the working space of which partial drying is carried out, then, it is laid in a layer on the grate of the roasting machine and final treatment is carried out, including suction of furnace gases through the layer, and removal of waste gases through the chimney. Partial drying of wet pellets is carried out with air with temperature of 20–300 °C. Air is supplied through hot air duct into blast box equipped with nozzle surface, in the form of several vertical slotted sections located along conveyor belt with a gap to the latter and buried in layer of pellets. Each section is made in the form of a mesh frame, on which heat-resistant elastic multilayer material with thickness of 0.4–5.0 mm is stretched with holes located on both sides of each section. Air pressure in the blast box is increased to 15–50 kPa by feeding compressed gas into the hot air duct.
EFFECT: intensification of moisture removal from layer of wet pellets, uniform distribution of heated air along height of layer and elimination of crumpling of heat-resistant elastic material.
