FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes pelletizing the charge on a pelletizer to obtain wet pellets, discharging them from the pelletizer and laying them in a layer on a conveyor belt located in a heat-insulated furnace, where the wet pellets are partially air-dried at a temperature of 20-300°C, delivered through a blow box equipped with a nozzle surface, in the form of several vertical slotted sections located along the conveyor belt with a gap to the latter and buried in the layer of pellets. Vertical slotted sections are conventionally divided in height into three equal parts, and the total area of the holes in each section located below is increased by 20-40%. Each section is made in the form of a mesh frame, on which a heat-resistant elastic material is stretched with holes located on both sides of each section; the holes are made in the form of elongated horizontal nozzles 2-3 times the diameter of the pellet and are arranged in a checkerboard pattern. Final heat treatment of the pellets is carried out on a roasting conveyor machine.
EFFECT: intensification of moisture removal from the lower layers of wet pellets, as well as reduced fuel consumption for heat treatment and increased productivity of the roasting machine.
