SURGICAL METHOD FOR TREATING RECURRENT AND COMPLEX FORMS OF INGUINAL HERNIA Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves opening inguinal canal. Hernia sack is exposed. Double purse-string suture is placed at the level of deep inguinal ring: internal one is placed on abdominal cavity side and the external one on the transverse fascia side sutured through all layers. Hernial sack is removed. Posterior wall of the inguinal canal is strengthened by creating a sewn-in reticular carcass ligament with lavsan threads. Every U-shaped suture is sewn in with several stitches into Poupart ligament. Inguinal space is eliminated with the second stitch catching transverse fascia, fascial sheaths of the oblique and transverse abdominal muscles. Free ends of ligatures are brought through preperitoneal cellular tissue above the peritoneum and under the transverse fascia, the oblique and transverse abdominal muscles on medial aponeurosis leaflet of the external oblique abdominal muscle. Free ends of ligatures are fixed with additional sewing-in into aponeurosis and interlaced nearest threads of neighboring sutures.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in restoring normal anatomic conditions in abdominal wall; excluded relapse.
