FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: ankle unit can be used in prosthetic appliances of lower extremities, particularly in units of artificial feet being able of adjustment along height of shoe heel, without re-mounting or dismounting prosthetic appliance. Ankle unit of foot appliance has ankle, ankle hinge, adjustment mechanism, back shock absorber and elastic insertion. Ankle unit connects elastic insertion and ankle and it is made to have front and back areas. Ankle consists of bell-crank. Shelf-bottom support is made in front arm of crank to be directed down. Ankle also has ankle case provided with connecting members. Adjustment mechanism has to be differential screw mechanism and it is mounted between case of ankle and front level of bell-crank. Front shock absorber is mounted between shelf-bottom and front support area of ankle hinge. Back shock absorber is mounted to rest against back support area of angle hinge and it is spring-loaded by adjusting screw mounted in back arm of bell-crank. Artificial foot can be adjusted in height smoothly and step-free.
EFFECT: improved comfort at walk, easier access to adjustment unit; adjustment of height of heel independently on adjustment of hardness of back shock absorber.
