FIELD: packing equipment, particularly for enclosing successive articles, or quantities of material in flat, folded or tubular webs of flexible sheet material.
SUBSTANCE: packing machine comprises web sealing means, which seals continuous web in longitudinal direction to form a sleeve, a number of cooperating sealing jam pairs, which press and seal sleeves filled with product at spaced apart locations. Machine also has auxiliary means position control means which controls auxiliary means position on packing material web. The auxiliary means position control means has automatic packing material web advancing length control means, which controls length of web advancement before pressing and sealing thereof in transversal direction. The packing material web advancing length control means includes bending rulers each installed in one of sealing jams of each jam pair so that each ruler may slide relatively the jam. Machine also has actuation means for bending rulers, which adjust bending ruler length to provide control of auxiliary means position on packing material web and, as a result, to provide predetermined position thereof on ready sealed packages. Method to control auxiliary means position on packing material web is also disclosed.
