METHOD FOR FISH ATTRACTIVE FLOW FORMING IN FISH PASS AND FISH PASS Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC E02B8/08

Abstract RU 2274705 C1

FIELD: hydraulic building, particularly for permitting fish passage through support structures to fish hatchery and growth areas.

SUBSTANCE: method involves creating fish attractive jet in opening of inlet waterway head by supplying main fish attractive flow from waterway, wherein the main fish attractive flow is received from upper pool; supplying additional water flow directly in waterway by opening additional supply unit; forming stable hydraulic conditions at inlet waterway head, in waterway mouth and in fish search zone. Additional water flow is supplied into cavities of roughness members to create secondary flows directed against the main flow in waterway. Fish pass comprises waterway made as a channel with outlet head connected with upper pool of hydraulic system and inlet head connected with lower pool of hydraulic system, roughness members installed at channel bottom along channel length and directed at acute angle to longitudinal channel axis, system to operate flow resistance member, which interferes in flow flowing through waterway. The system includes supply pipeline arranged in parallel to waterway and independent collectors transversal to waterway and communicated with cavities of roughness members. Roughness members are made as rigid frames. Outlet orifices are created in upper frame part from approach flow side. The outlet orifices are arranged along major frame face. Supply pipeline is connected to upper pool and provided with additional water flow regulator.

EFFECT: improved hydraulic conditions in fish pass for kinetic energy dissipation and for fish passage inside fish pass.
