FIELD: machine engineering, possibly working inner surfaces of grooves and recesses by depth peripheral grinding.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of introducing into opening of rotating blank built-up grinding wheel mounted in spindle by acute angle relative to plane normal to rotation axis with use of tapered washers arranged in pairs at wheel ends; imparting to grinding wheel rotation and cross in-feed motion. Grinding wheel has two diamond-abrasive discs. One disc is mounted with possibility of lengthwise motion by means of set of plate springs arranged between discs, thrust bearing assembly mounted at end of wheel at side of movable disc acting upon thrust bearing assembly. Wear of end surfaces of wheel is compensated due to lengthwise motion of movable disc. In description of invention formula is given for calculating height of disc.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and quality, lowered thermal stress of grinding process.
