FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed engine contains cylinders arranged in parallel with pairs of pistons rigidly interconnected by rods. Hole is made in working shaft being arranged with displacement by 1/4 of piston stroke from main axis of rotation. Crankshaft is installed on bearing on hole of working shaft being provided with two coaxially arranged journals displaced from axis of rotation of crankshaft by 1/4 of piston stroke and projecting beyond the limits of working shaft from different sides. Journals are connected with rods through bearings. According to invention, crankshaft is provided with additional journals with bearings arranged parallel to each other at different ends of crankshaft after journals of rods with displacement by 1/2 of piston stroke relative to journal of crankshaft rod and by 1/4 of piston stroke relative to axis of rotation of crankshaft. Additional journals move along slots crosswise relative to rod. Power is taken off from engine in middle part of working shaft, and timing mechanism is made in form of timing chains coupled with middle part of working shaft. Working shaft is provided with counterweights, and crankshaft is provided with recess for balancing.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of operation.
