FIELD: engineering of metal detectors for use in criminalistics, archeology, control during examinations and the like.
SUBSTANCE: method includes emitting alternating electromagnetic field by means of adjustable generator, loaded on antenna. On appearance of search subject, re-emitted signal appears, different from emitted one by amplitude and phase, synchronizing adjustable generator. Metal detector contains antenna, oscillating contour, adjustable generator, first integrator for forming discontinuous generation of adjustable generator, as which radio-frequency or UHF generating detector is utilized. Phase channel contains normalizing device, balance mixer, second, third, fourth and fifth integrators, first comparator, two indicators. Amplitude channel has amplitude detector, integrator, comparator, two indicators.
EFFECT: increased sensitivity, resolution capacity, resistance to interference, possible automatic adjustment of activation threshold.
