FIELD: electrical engineering; manufacture of positive plates for vehicle lead batteries.
SUBSTANCE: newly introduced in proposed active material for positive plates of lead batteries that incorporates lead oxides, lead sulfate, tin sulfate, and metal lead are polyacrylonitrile (nitronic) rubber fiber as binder, proportion of ingredients being as follows, mass percent: lead oxide, 71.8 - 85.0; lead sulfate, 12.0 - 15.5; lead metal, 1.3 - 5.4; tin sulfate, 0.2 - 8.0; binder [short-cut polyacrylonitrile (nitronic) fiber], 0.1 - 1.5. Using active material of such composition enhances battery capacity by more than 6% and extends battery life by more than two times.
EFFECT: enhanced mechanical strength of positive plates.
