FIELD: electrical engineering; manufacture of lead-acid storage batteries.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes introduction of phosphoric acid H3PO4 into active material prepared of mixture of two source lead powders I and II in mass ratio of (0.3 0.7) : (0.7 - 0.3) with mean particle size, as measured by means of sediment-metric analysis, of 2.6 - 2.8 µm for I, and -3.2 - 3.4 µm for II and oxidation of 75 - 85% for I and 60 - 70% for II and used to form positive plates, amount of phosphoric acid being 2 - 4 mass percent of active material mass.
EFFECT: enlarged specific surface area of positive plates and enhanced strength of their active material.
