FIELD: railway transport; cooling system of diesel engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed cooling device of locomotive diesel engine consists of one or several cooling chambers 1 accommodating radiators 4, 5 and fans 8. When ambient air temperature exceeds nominal air temperature for operation of diesel engine, electric motor of one of fans is switched on in addition to the others with simultaneous opening of manifold 9 of said fan, and at temperature of ambient air below minus 20°C, electric motor of one fan is switched off and its manifold is closed. Switching on and off of each fan is accompanied by opening or closing of corresponding louvers 14, 15.
EFFECT: reduced power taken by cooling device, reduced fuel consumption of diesel engine, reduced single-unit and total power of electric motors, provision of operation of motors and fans in zone of maximum efficiency.
