FIELD: railway transport; cooling systems of diesel engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed cooling device of locomotive diesel engine consists of several cooling chambers 1, 2, 3 with radiators. When ambient air temperature exceeds nominal air temperature for operation of diesel engine, one or several cooling chambers are cut into operation in addition to others, and at ambient air temperature below 0°C, one or several cooling chambers are switched off with drying or without drying.
EFFECT: reduced power taken by cooling device, reduced fuel consumption of diesel engine, single unit and total power of electric motors, provision of their operation and operation of fan in zone of maximum efficiency.
