FIELD: transport engineering; cooling systems of diesel engines.
SUBSTANCE: according to provided method of cooling of diesel engines of diesel locomotives, removal of heat from cooling agents of diesel engine is carried out in cooling device consisting of cooling chambers, each containing three, or four, or five, or six fans 9. Fan are switched on in turn or switched off in turn depending on preset temperature range of ambient air or preset temperature range of ambient air and preset range of diesel engine power outputs, or preset range of diesel engine power. When fans are switched on, their manifolds 32 are opened, and when fans are switched off, manifolds are closed.
EFFECT: reduced power consumed by cooling device, power of fan motors, provision of operation of fans in zone of maximum efficiency under all operating conditions.
