COLLOIDAL ORGANIC DISPERSION OF THE IRON PARTICLES, THE METHOD OF ITS PRODUCTION AND ITS APPLICATION AS THE ADDITIVE TO THE FUEL OF THE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC C01G49/00 B01J13/00 C10L10/06

Abstract RU 2277510 C2

FIELD: chemical industry; methods of production of the colloidal organic dispersion of the iron particles and its application as the additive to the fuel for the internal-combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: the invention presents the colloidal organic dispersion of the iron particles, which contains an organic phase, particles of the iron compound in the amorphous form with d50 from 1 up to 5 nanometers and at least one amphiphilic agent. At least 85 % of particles of the iron compound are primary. The organic phase is formed on the basis of nonpolar hydrocarbon. The amphiphilic agent represents the carboxylic acid containing 10-50 carbon atoms. Additionally the colloid dispersion may contain the particles of the compound of the rare-earth element, for example: Ce, La, Y, Gd, Nd, Pr with d50 from 1 up to 5 nanometers. The colloid dispersion is produced by the reaction of the iron salt with the base at presence of the compound forming the complex with the iron. Instead of the iron salt it is possible to use a ferrous complex compound. Keep pH of the reactionary medium of no more than 8. The compound forming the complex with the iron select from the water-soluble carboxylic acids, for example, from formic, acetic, wine, lemon, amino acids or from polyacrylic acids. Then the produced sediment or the suspension contacts with the organic medium at presence of the amphiphilic agent. The produced colloidal dispersion of the iron compound particles is mixed with the same dispersion of the rare-earth element compound. The invention ensures, that the colloidal dispersion is stable within 6 months and more, keeps its stability after several cycles of the heat treatment at the temperatures from -20°C up to +80°C. At usage of the colloid dispersion as the additive to the motor fuel for the internal-combustion engines in amount of 7 ppm the smut inflammation temperature decreases to 405°C.

EFFECT: the invention ensures, that the colloidal dispersion is stable within 6 months and more, keeps its stability after several cycles of the heat treatment at the temperatures from minus 20°C up to plus 80°C and used as the additive to the fuel for the internal-combustion engines in amount of 7 ppm decreases the smut inflammation temperature to 405°C.
