FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, possibly measurement of height and profile of charge in shaft furnaces, particularly in blast furnaces.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes radar with antenna, both mounted in pipe arranged in housing on flared portion placed on furnace crown; reflection member spaced from antenna, inclined relative to lengthwise axis of antenna by angle 45° and mounted with possibility of rotation around said axis. Lengthwise axis of antenna is normal relative to vertical plane passing through axis of shaft furnace. Reflection member is arranged in additional pipe mounted in housing with possibility of rotation. Along the whole perimeter of flared portion metallic ribs are welded with inclination angle 45° relative to wall surfaces; said ribs are mutually spaced by distance equal to width of rib.
EFFECT: enhanced operational reliability, simplified maintenance of apparatus.
