FIELD: equipment for cleaning of surface, such as floor or upholstering.
SUBSTANCE: surface cleaning apparatus has elongate rotating device located within casing equipped with front panel. Front panel has non-flat lower edge formed in such a manner that during utilization of apparatus distance between lower edge and surface to be cleaned may be adjusted to thereby provide for passage of relatively large garbage from the outside of casing under front panel into casing. Front panel is equipped with slot open at its lower edge and having depth within the range of from about 4 mm to about 20 mm and width within the range of from about 20 mm to about 150 mm.
EFFECT: increased efficiency in picking up of average sized and large sized garbage without lifting of sweeping device from surface under cleaning procedure.
