SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a vacuum cleaner (10) and, in particular, to a vacuum cleaner (10) having a rotary brush (24). The vacuum cleaner (10) comprises a movable head part (12) adapted to move along the surface to be cleaned, at that the movable head part (12) has a front end (28) and a rear end. The movable head part (12) has a rotary brush (24) located in the brush chamber (23) at the front end of the movable head part (12), at that the brush chamber (23) has an opening (26) through which a part of the rotary brush (24) protrudes, and the opening (26) and the rotary brush (24) extend substantially across the entire width of movable head part (12). The movable head part (12) also has an impeller (46) and a motor (34) for actuating the rotary brush (34) and the impeller (46). The movable head part (12) has a chamber-waste container (42) extending substantially across the entire width of the movable head part, and a filter (52) located between the chamber-waste container (42) and the impeller (46), and the filter (52) substantially also extends across the entire width of the movable head part.
