FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises pre-graduation of natural thermocouple cutter-article, measurement of averaged voltage generated by both emf sources in friction zones on front and rear surfaces of cutting tool. To increase temperature measurement accuracy, common resistance of measurement circuits on both said surfaces is measured. Then, after isolating front surface from chips, thermo-emf generated solely by said natural thermocouple cutter-article and resistance of said couple circuit are measured to calculate therefrom the resistance of circuit front surface-chips are measured as well and thermo-emf generated by natural thermocouple front surface-chips. Now magnitudes of measured emf and pre-graduation of said natural thermocouple cutter-article are used separately determine heating temperatures of front and rear surfaces of used cutter.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of temperature determination.
