FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: according to invention catalytic additions are introduced into working volume of internal combustion engine chamber to intensify process of fuel combustion in combustion chamber which are secured in microirregularities of at least one friction surface in working volume of combustion chamber of internal combustion engine. Fastening of catalytic additions, such as metal and oxides of metals Cr, Co, Fe, Cu, Mn, Ni, Zn in microirregularities on friction surfaces is done by rubbing the surfaces with bars including catalytic additions and materials to hold additions in microirregularities (binders). Rubber treatment is done by honing or superfinishing of surfaces in process of final honing (superfinishing) or during additional operation after final honing (superfinishing). To increase effect, catalytic additions together with fuel can be introduced into working volume.
EFFECT: reduced toxicity of exhaust gases and cost of operation of internal combustion engines.
