SUBSTANCE: proposed high-pressure gas-discharge lighting lamp whose life is extended due to provision for preventing accelerated evaporation of activator has burner made of optically transparent material and electrodes provided with high-melting rod carrying sintered mass. The latter is shaped in the form of cylinder with rounded-off ribs between its side surface and base, rounding radius rr meeting following condition: 
 where r0 is cathode spot radius.
EFFECT: enhanced service life of lamp, improved design of its electrode.
