FIELD: electrotechnical industry.
SUBSTANCE: gas-discharge lamp consists of burner from optically transparent material, which is filled with inertial gas and mercury, in every end of which main and auxiliary electrode is installed hermetically, which is electrically connected to the opposite main electrode through limiting resistor. Main electrodes are made as baked, at that temperature of maximum heated section of electrode baked portion in nominal mode of operation, pressure of inert gas in burner, internal diameter of burner and distance between electrodes are connected in the following ratio: , where: Pb - pressure of inert gas in burner, Pa; L b.e. - distance between baked electrodes in burner, mm; Tmax - temperature of maximum heated section of electrode baked part. K; Dint. - internal diameter of burner, mm; K - coefficient of proportionality equal to 1.0 and which has dimension - K/Pa.
EFFECT: reduction of lamp production prime cost.
