FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves placing polypropylene gauze strip on resection line base with hepatic lobe being enveloped in muff manner. The muff ends are sutured near the lower organ boundary. Garland suture is placed in suturing anterior and posterior leaf of the strip and the whole liver bulk. Three segments of garland suture are formed. Left hepatic lobe resection is carried out with electric knife along free distal strip edge. Distinct bleeding areas of wound surface are coagulated. Polypropylene gauze strip is cut out corresponding to stump size. The liver stump is cover with the strip. The strip is sutured along the perimeter with hepatic tissue and distal edges of the placed strip being captured. It is fixed on liver tissue in the stump center.
EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in sealing liver wound tissue surface.
