FIELD: analytic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method designed for analytic control of the amount of FS expander in active material of lead-acid battery negative plate includes introduction of sodium tripolyphosphate powder in sample of active material being analyzed for complete extraction of FS expander from active material, reduction of lead compounds in active material by means of sodium hydrosulfate to lead, evaluation of the amount of FS expander by calibration curve constructed using special man-made active materials having different mass fractions of FS expander with its content ranging between 0.1 and 0.6% of powdered lead mass.
EFFECT: enhanced precision of mentioned expander control in active material.
