INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC F02B75/28 F02B75/32

Abstract RU 2279561 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: proposed engine contains skeleton accommodating at least one compartment with two opposite cylinders. Cylinders are closed from outer end faces by covers and are provided with intake and outlet ports on side walls arranged opposite to one another. Each compartment of skeleton accommodates one double sectional piston arranged in two opposite cylinders, and two main shafts. Sectional piston includes two housings interconnected by rod provided with thickened part with cylindrical hole in middle. Piston shaft is press-fitted into cylindrical hole of rod by its thickened part. End ball heads are arranged symmetrically on ends of piston shaft. Main shafts are cylindrical and are arranged coaxially by one ends in halves of skeleton in center of its split one beatings and are furnished with counterweights in inner ends side of cylinder liners. Main shafts are provided with cranks on inner ends from side of cylinder liners. One end of each crank is hinge connected with end ball head of piston shaft, and other end is connected with main shaft. Compression rings and heat-resistant heads are installed on housings of sections piston, heads being secured on tail piece of rod. Two profiled bevels are made on outer end faces of each heat-resistant head on one half of circle: one bevel adjoins intake port of each cylinder, and the other, adjoins outlet of said cylinders. Bead tightly fitted to bevel from side of outlet port is made on end face of second half of head circle. Split carnon-graphite ring pressed to walls of cylinder by flat spring is fitted in ring groove formed in butt joint of heads. Cylinders are closed by inner covers with central hole to pass rod from inner sides. Said rod is sealed by bronze split rings with ring springs. End ball heads of piston shaft are made in form of sliding ball bosses fitted on cylindrical ends of shaft.

EFFECT: increased specific power per mass unit, mechanical efficiency, reduced consumption of oil and discharge of harmful combustion products, simplified design and increased service life.
