FIELD: mechanical engineering; manufacture of tools for mining and drilling work.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in placing special-purpose steel envelope or steel container into casting mold in the course of its manufacture which is brazed with the aid of iron-carbide solder. Then mold with envelope or container is heated to temperature of 650-750°C at forming shield gas atmosphere inside mold and tool bases are covered with steel melt. Prior the placing in mold, protective coat is applied on surface of envelope (container) directed towards cavity of mold. Protective coat is made in form of layer of hardened melt of borax dispersed by graphite in the amount of 5-15 mass-%.
EFFECT: improved quality of mining tools.
