FIELD: electrical and electromechanical engineering; large electrical machines, such as turbogenerators.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for diagnosing interference fit of shroud rings shrunk while hot on electrical machine rotor and its variations includes comparative measurements of distances between external surface of rotor barrel in reference zones of its end parts and annular external surface of shroud ring fixed within fit length using rather simple device in the form of bracket. Reference zones provided on external surfaces of rotor teeth or slot wedges may be used as basic ones for measurements. Proposed device implementing this method is made in the form of L-shaped bracket one of whose legs is secured in reference zones on external surface of rotor-barrel end parts and other (metering) leg hangs over annular surface of shroud ring to form radial clearance whose variations indicate changes in interference fit.
EFFECT: ability of diagnosing interference fit without disassembling shroud ring, enhanced measurement accuracy, reduced inspection and repair charges.
